How We Treat Pigmentation

Laser pigmentation treatment works by delivering controlled light or fractional laser energy into the skin to break down excess melanin that causes dark patches, sun spots, and uneven tone. As the pigment is fragmented, the body naturally clears it away through the lymphatic system. At the same time, collagen production and cell turnover are stimulated, improving overall skin clarity, texture, and radiance.

MOXI is a non-ablative fractional laser that works deeper in the skin to correct stubborn pigment while also improving texture, fine lines, and collagen quality. It is ideal for patients who want deeper correction with minimal disruption to daily life.

Used together, they provide a layered, precision approach to pigmentation correction.

What kinds of pigmentation can laser treatment help with?

BBL® HEROic™ and MOXI® can treat sun damage, age spots/sun spots, uneven skintone, freckles, discolouration from UV exposure and other pigment irregularities.

Treatments can be applied to the face, neck, décolletage, hands, arms, shoulders, legs, and other exposed or pigmented areas.

Both BBL® HEROic™ and MOXI® treatments take approximately 30 minutes.

Some improvement may be seen after a single session, though the number of sessions depends on the severity and depth of pigmentation. For BBL® HEROic™, many patients require three treatments.

BBL® HEROic™ does not require numbing; the treatment is described as comfortable and tolerable. For MOXI®, topical numbing cream is used for patient comfort.

MOXI® is described as suitable for all skin types and tones. BBL® HEROic™ is suitable for Fitzpatrick skin types I–V (not type VI or heavily suntanned type V) — skin will be assessed before treatment.
